Subject: Club Grinding Advice

I have been playing my 1 Iron set, exclusively, for eleven months. I am in awe of the improvement in my game. I have been practicing with and playing my lob wedge, so much, that I have nicked the sole on rocks and debris. My last hobby was knife making. I still have the full setup for grinding and polishing metal. My question is will removing enough metal to grind out a 1/16" nick alter the playing qualities of this club? If so, I will put up with the nicks, as this club is the most important one for my playing style. If not, do you have a suggestion on where I could find more information on club grinding?

Grinding down the sole by the 1/16" you mention will not be a problem
