Mike,

Distance is strictly a function of swing speed and loft angle. Golfers with varying swing speeds will have varying distances as well.

I will say that if you compare loft angles (not club numbers) you will hit our irons as far or farther than any other major brand.

I just recently bought the driver and 3 wood and seeing how there is snow where I live I have not hit them yet. However from doing practice swings in my basement they feel and look amazing I cannot wait for spring so I can put the wood and driver through their paces. However I have picked up around 10 yards with every iron in the bag due to hitting the center of the club face more often due to putting the same swing on every club. Also take into account my SS with my 7 iron is 85mph. "Carry" Distances are as followed
3 iron-210
4 iron-200
5 iron-190
6 iron-180
7 iron-170
8 iron-160
9 iron-150
PW-140
GW-130
SW-100
LW-90 and in; however I rarely uses a LW for a full swing. Also there is no problem taking some off of the wedges by either choking down on the clubs, or adjusting my backswing accordingly to how far I want to hit each wedge. If you are on the edge about buying the 1 irons I highly recommend them and I will never go back to traditional irons. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask as I check this forum regularly.

How come that you have 30 yards between the sw and gw and 10 yards between all the other iron? The loft angel is 4 degrees betwen all irons.

I'm in the same boat -- I've been playing a set of Pinhawk SL single length irons with matching length wedges for over a year and I don't think that I will also never go back to a set of traditional clubs!

Our carry distances are similar (you can see them on my website Pinhawk review on single-length-irons-guy.com), but I'd love to get my hands on a set of 1irons to see the differences in carry, consistency, gapping, etc.

I tried the Pinhawks a few years ago because they were cheap and I found them to be nothing more than a very poor imitation of the 1 Irons. The distance gaps with the Pinhawks were all over the place as was shot dispersion - no consistency from club to club. My 1 Irons were much more expensive but there is a big reason why. Consistency from club to club is fantastic with an exact yardage gap between the irons within the set. Personally, I have a 10 yard gap between successive irons in my set (#3 through LW) and the shot dispersion is tighter than any irons I have ever played. Very solid feel through impact and high trajectory, even with the #3 and #4 irons.
