Realistically, the Wishon irons are not a true single-length set. They have varying degrees of offset, varying bounce angles, and a varying incremental loft angle progression. The specifications of the irons within a single-length set must be identical or each iron will feel and play differently.

Certainly, a number of companies will spring up offering single-length sets of irons (jumping on the bandwagon), and indeed, there are a few companies already doing so. However, these companies, including Cobra Golf, are facing failure for the same reason that the Tommy Armour line of EQLs failed in the 1990�s. The reason being that it is imperative that a set of single-length irons fit the golfer � �one size fits all� simply does not work. The EQLs were built to a #6 iron club length which only fits approximately 13% of the total golfing population and the Cobra Golf single-length irons will be built to a #7 iron club length which only fits approximately 14% of the total golfing population. The other single-length offerings on the market fall into this same trap, only being offered in either a #7 or #8 iron club length. These failings are due to a complete lack of understanding and experience in the design and function of single-length irons.

David: It seems that all you have to do is shorten or lengthen Cobra's one length irons to fit a bigger population if 62.5 lie is okay instead of your 63.5. However, Cobra's F7 One Length longer irons (4, 5 and 6) compared to its 7 are heavier by 25, 16 and 7 grams respectively while the 8, 9, PW, SW and GW are lighter by 8, 16, 22, 26 and 32 grams. So, Cobra is going with same length, but heavier long irons and lighter short irons. How does this affect playability?

Varying weights within a set of single-length irons ruins the entire concept of single-length play. Not only will each club feel and play differently, but the shaft flex will change from club to club as well. You might as well stick to conventional irons with all of the built in variables that make them difficult to play.

The head weights are the same is my understanding. The article (which is confusing) was trying to say that a SL 4 iron head is heavier than a variable 4 iron head.... All the heads in the set weigh the same...

Further to my last post, it appears that the Cobra irons are the standard iron head bent to the same lie angle with weight added (Tungsten) or removed.

Meaning the offset varies and I would assume the bounce does as well.

So... Not a true SL set...
