Braden,

You are correct that all of the major brands update their offerings every year. Believe me, it is not because of any technological break through, but rather,to create the impression that there is. Frankly, the original Ping perimeter weighted irons of the 1960's are just as valid today as they were when first introduced. The golf industry has learned marketing very well from the auto industry who comes out with their "new and improved" year after year to generate sales to both new and existing customers. The only difference is that there are major technology improvements in the auto industry from year to year. In the golf industry the improvements they make are strictly cosmetic and have no game enhancing attributes whatsoever. It is just a game they play to increase sales.

When I designed our 1 Irons 20+ years ago I incorporated every proven performance feature there is. This same design was carried over to our Pro-lines and Blackstones. If ever there were a valid breakthrough in clubhead design I would incorporate it immediately, but this has not happened and our iron design is judged as "Ultra Game Improvement" (the highest category) in Maltby Playability Factor testing/ranking. We don't play marketing games with our customers - we only offer the best products we can produce.
