Subject: Trained To Rise Again

So cold,
but I built a fire,
So worn,
but I have a pillow to comfort me,
So much pain,
the doctors won't give me any more medicine,
so I get mine from the street.
So much sorrow,
I'll drown it in this bottle.
So alone,
thank goodness for the friends in my head.
So unloved,
I don't need their love anyway.

Walked on, stamped on,
trounced on, pounced on,
beaten to the ground.
That's OK I'm trained to rise again.

Hand out but noone will take it,
instead they drop change into my hand,
smug in their good deed as they walk away.
Longing to be touched,
longing to be held,
longing to feel a warm heart
beating beside my own,
but they all shudder when I'm near them.
I stumble on through another day.
I don't need them anyway.
Its not like I have a choice anyway.
They don't want me anyway.
