Very cold and windy here today. This morning there was a huge flock of wild turkeys in the back pasture. I counted 42 of them! They had come out of the woods that run alonside the farm, and made their way over to the water trough for the horses. We watched out our bedroom window. There was a cat in the runoff gully that runs thru my mare's little pasture and a handful of the turkeys were watching a cat that was sunning itself there. When it moved to walk off, the turkeys all jumped and squawked at it. LOL It was funny. By then the others were making their way back up the hill to where the tom was standing guard, all fluffed up. He danced a few times to some of the hens, and gobbled a few times. He looked massive... hmmm... wonder if he'll still be around come Thanksgiving time??? :D
