If you wish to investigate a non-medical answer to ADD, do an Internet search on the "Feingold Diet." My son was mildly ADD, and the diet made medication unnecessary. He later went to West Point, and was in the 1996 Olympics. Obviously, his grades were fine or he could not have gotten into West Point.
As for your mother, you are still going to need to view people from a different perspective if you wish different results. This comment has nothing to do with whether your mother is "right" or "wrong." It simply has to do with the way life works. Would you like a different outcome? Then try a different approach.
