If you have an ARC, they are obliged to tax you.
You must pay taxes if you have an ARC. They should give you a tax receipt but that doesn't mean they will. If they don't take your pay slip, copies of your time card, contract
and any other info and file a complaint with the tax office. They are not involved with immigration and don't care about you working status. Make sure you can prove that your school deducted the taxes.
Please note that if you do not have a valid ARC you may have trouble filing a tax retrun.
