My name is Justin Gauvin. I'm a 26 year
old male from Canada. I have a 4 years B.A. in arts. I have
completed the TESOL certificate program, for I wanted to see the world and be able to pay my student loan. I'm a newbie in english teaching and am looking for a job in asia and I was mainly thinking of Taiwan for the money. I have good teaching skills to offer shools and espacially the students.
But as I've read your notices on the discussion bords on dave's esl and then on your web site, I don't want to get caught in an uncomfortable situation.
So, I decided to write to you for advice. I'm travelling in India at the moment. It's quite and eye opener on another world. Before I came I prepared the best I could to be able to go teach afterwards. I have all the papers, except the visas and ARC. I'm searching on the net for good places to teach, but there's so many.
How should I proceed If I don't get a job before arriving in Taiwan?
When would it be the best time to come? Iwas thinking March. I would be able to arrive in mid-Febuary. Or could I wait till May, for my indian visa extends up till then.
How long can it take to find a job? And what should I have in hand and in mind to approach the shcools?
Thank you for your help.
Viva la revolution
Justin
