It is not impossible for visible minorities to find work it is just more difficult. ESL in Taiwan is as much entertainment as it is a business. If you look the part you get the job.
Taiwan has no civil rights laws to speak of and the few they do are ignored particularly by government officials.
Please come to Taiwan an teach. It is the only way to change the stereo type. I have to warn you it may not be a very pleasant experience.
