Breathing while drowning,
summer attic suffocation,
my face a sundial buried in Time�s bosom
Her voluptuous curves arch upon my
hand and I dream of grasping eternity
On my knees I bend forward, gliding over a fulcrum,
sloping myself atop Time�s softness;
an innocent accepted into Her fold-space

Yet I am dying embers in her melting snows
I am vapor from damp coolness after lovemaking
to be lost as seconds kissing are,
as hours of bodies entwined in repose are,
as days of adoration are,
all drawn from this beating mortal pendulum in my chest

Shriveled husk upon your doorstep
I can barely hear the door open
"Time never knew me�" I whisper
Your arms do not divide the day into increments
as they surround me
