The mirror mocks me
who is she reflected back?
not me
red swollen eyes
hollow cheeks
limp hair tied back
no vitality
they try to fool me
false images
punishment
sneaking out
looking sideways
avoiding your
critical eyes
whispered voices
interrupt my flight
who are they discussing?
not me, surely
doesn�t sound like me
a stranger must be here
living in our midst
edging down the stairs
disappearing
into the wallpaper
quietly does it
reach the kitchen
hand in drawer
knife in hand
blade shining
refracting tortured light
plunge it in
got her
the stranger has gone
goodbye!
