The night has no dawn
The moon hides her face

Juggling the spheres of heaven
Earth beneath our thorn pricked feet
Hell in our Moloch bellies of fire.

Oh, how the serpent coils
Tongue flicking between my breasts
Hissing whispers!

Send Michael over Indian Ocean's spray
To bring goldenrod's glow to light the stony way
Send Gabriel over flowered fields
To gather incense to vanquish the scent of death
Tell Raphael to fly down where we lay
To anoint our mortal bodies with myrrh
And Uriel, bring your day,
Your voice of interpreted visions.
