Ok. My reasons for not liking religion....
I don't think it is right to tell people that God will protect people who believe in him, and punish the wicked or whatever. Really bad things happen to really good people. I used to go to church, but then I got to a point in my life where everything was going wrong, and I started thinking.... What did I do wrong to make all this stuff happen? Yeah, maybe I didn't always make all the "right" decisions, but I didn't do anything that made me deserve the stuff that happened to me. I decided that I don't like the idea of a God who punishes, and that was when I stopped considering myself a Christian. I don't agree with religions that use guilt to get people to do the "right" thing.
As for religions that encourage hate, look at all the fighting going on in other parts of the world. My aunt goes to some weird church that is like total brainwashing. They're all convinced that their church is the best, and they have to save all of the heathens and stuff.
I'm not saying that all religions are bad, and actually I really like most religious philosophy, whether or not I agree with it. And some religions are really peaceful and nice. But many of the original doctrines have been "interpreted" by many different people and the meanings have changed. For example, Muslims were originally forbidden to kill people, and now they are involved in religious wars. Well, class is almost over and I haven't gotten much work done, so that's all for now.
