I just don't see why confessing sins should be necessary- if God is all-knowing then you don't need to tell him what you did because he would already know.
And I know that in most cases religion is not supposed to make people feel bad or guilty, it should be a postitive part of people's lives, and that is exactly why I decided to step back and think about it instead of just blindly believing what I had always been told. And I feel more connected with "God" when I'm by myself and "praying" (for lack of a better word... but it's more like meditating) in my own way, because it is personal and it is me. That is part of what has given me the strength to make it through the past few years.
And yes, in many ways I am still unhappy. There are things that I have been through that don't ever really go away.
