Author: So... why should they travel? Or be looked down upon for not traveling?
Subject: Dixieland had a pageant in Oregon less than a year ago. It was my understanding that she is still coming back.... why would people travel to CA when they can do the same pageant closer to home? There are plenty of pageants in the area to keep most satisfied..... They can win the same $$ and prizes that they could win traveling to another state... but save on the travel expenses...

In answer to why travel for same prizes and incur the extra expense. Sometines its just fun to go sowhere out of your own area. Since this is an open state pageant and there are people competing from AZ, NV, Co, NO. & So. CA, & WA, and there would be more competition it just seemed like a good pageant to go to.

But why deal with the expense and stress from all that when we can do pageant systems right here in the NW that we feel are better and offer less suprises (door entrys that count as points for overall scores). Yes, I know the director is saying that the door entry thing will not happen this time around but a lot of people got very upset when she did it hear before.
