They only had half the contestants needed to give out the full cash award so we were told it would be prorated, which was fine. The problem was they pro-rated the grands down to something like 30.00. It also bothered most of us that about 10 minutes after crowning the director was gone. Most of the parents had questions about judging, awards, prizes, etc. but we were unable to get answeres to those questions. While I understand that she probably had a plane to catch, I felt she should have taken that into consideration when making her reservations. There were a few other problems, each alone was not enough to cause us to decide to stay away from nationals but the combination of all of them did.

Some of the family's there still felt it was a good system, others did not. I dont believe the feelings were overwhelming in either direction. I would say go ahead and give it a try, you may love the system.

It is posted on another board and it sounds like it was a little worse for them.
