i feel the same way this pageant has always had odd results-- i have stopped going b ut i believe that people forget and remember that it is in palm springs at a awesome hotel....

Re: Miss American Starlet Pageant Win or lose...we keep going back because we have an INCREDIBLE, FABULOUS, FUN time...The Hotel is in Palm Springs and it ROCKS big time! For my family, the whole cost of the pageant is worth it just to be staying in that hotel, relaxing, and swimming. My kids love it. The parties are awesome, the staging is great...I truly enjoy finals night even when one of mine doesnt make it into top ten. We will continue to go regardless of the outcomes because this is the one pageant all year that my kids cant stop talking about and BEG to go back....and hey...if they are happy, then I am happy...thats what is all about for me. We go and have a good time as a family and when we dont come home with the title we wanted, my kids really could care less. And when they do win a title I dont make a huge deal out of that either because there are way more important things in life that I make a bigger deal over like when they learn to say their prayers for the first time, say their ABC's without messing up, learn to tie their shoes, when they first learn about Jesus and truly start to understand about Him... Those are all things that are just way more precious to me than bringing home a pageant title. So maybe that is why I have a different perspective on this..I dont know. I guess all I can say to anybody that feels like they were robbed or cheated out of something DONT GO BACK! That is the best message that you can send, maybe some of you are right about some things being "rigged" in some contestants favor...I dont think it was rigged but then again I dont know for 100%sure that is wasnt. If you are unhappy, dont go back and dont recommend the pageant to anyone. Or better yet, instead of coming on these boards and whining...if you truly believe something unfair went on as some of the posters have indicated, then take it to the BBB or take it to the police...If the pageant was truly "rigged" then that is criminal, right? Take your charges to the police if you really believe what you are saying and it all isnt just sour grapes.

All that I can say is the people on this board ARE NOT WHINING! If you have fun at this pageant then great for you , but I know there are a lot of pageants out there that are better and that are fair, for far less than this pageant costs! The hotel is not the important part of the pageant and why would you enter a pageant if you dont want to win? There are other things that are important too besides winning but come on, noone enters their child in a competition just to stay at a big hotel. I would rather take the kind of money that this pageant costs and do something better with it. I can think of a lot better places than Palm Springs to spend my vacation! If you read the posts you will see that some people are going to or already have taken it to the Better Business Bureau.

People are not whining. We are simply expressing our opinions of what occurred this year. If you have fun at the pageant, then by all means continue to go. I am not saying that no one should participate just because of our experience. I feel that if something fishy is going on then it should be made known so that participants can make their own decision as to whether they will go back or not. I would hope that someone would do the same for me. I personally like to research a pageant system before I participate. These aren't cheap, as we all know.

I take my daughter because she enjoys being on stage and meeting new people. She doesn't pout or get upset if she doesn't win. I have gone to the BBB regardging this pageant. I don't go into a pegeant expecting my daughter to win. BUT I do expect her to have an EQUAL CHANCE at winning.

If you reread the posts, they weren't complaining that their child didn't win. They were about the way the pageant is being run and the half truths and lies that are told by the directors.
