I am 48 and have been shaved since I was 13. I served 22 years in the Army and no-one ever said anything. Some tried it and some of those (usually the married soldiers) stayed that way so their wives must have liked it. None of my three wives ever said anything, no girlfriends ever did, nor my mother or sisters. I've never encountered a bad word.
