Subject: I think the difference in your opinion about this and some other's (including mine) is how you view performances (inside):

We view performances, especially around St. Patrick's Day, as a time to enjoy the dancing without the stress of competitions, catch up with the other dance families, contribute to the school and Irish dance/Irish culture, etc. St Pat. time is our time to shine- share with the general public a little about our culture. And we do it for team/school spirit. If my dancer makes a few bucks here and there, even better, but we never count on it. I find that having a generous spirit and contributing for the good of the school comes full circle. The benefits my child has received over the years from Irish dance, the school, and the TC have been immeasurable. Perhaps you view these performances as something you HAVE to do, rather than want to do. Or that you are doing them as a favor to the TC. I suppose that's the difference.
