Subject: There are a LOT of videos on Youtube, but they are directed more towards ballet dancers. The concept is the same though, so these are good videos to try.
In reply to: VB 's message, "Does anyone have recommended exercise programs or specific exercises for improving turnout from the hip? Any help appreciated!" on 19:36:49 05/22/17 Mon

Great explanation on proper turnout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WImkBuw9UAg

Replies:

  • If you want to take a class, but not an actual ballet class, you can see if there are ballet barre classes near you. They have good exercises for opening up the hips and turnout without having to do actual ballet. (NT) -- RAD, 10:45:30 05/23/17 Tue
  • Be careful with a barre class - make sure the instructor knows about physiology and isn't just an instructor who's learned to teach barre -- More inside, 11:29:41 05/23/17 Tue
