I believe that this IS a valid war. And WHEN (not if, unless Kerry gets elected) we finally get Iraq online as a contributing member in the world, they along with Afganistan will be an invaluble point from which to continue to advance the War on Terror. With such solid footing in the Middle East, would-be terrorists will have a hard time organizing and advancing their violent acts.
By the way, some of you might remember from social studies class in high school or from older relatives about the occupation of Japan and Germany after WWII, well guess what, WE'RE STILL IN THOSE COUNRTIES! And Iraq will not be any different. Although the reason we are still in those countries is different from when we first occupied, fact is we are still there. And so it will be with Iraq. If your children decide to enlist in the military after high school, going to Iraq in 2025 will be like being assigned to Japan now. In short, even with the transfer of power on June 30, 2004, don't expect America to be packing their bags to be coming home anytime soon.
