I just found this site. It brought back a lot of memories. I used to party with Stolze and will miss him. He was one of a kind. Joan Hicks was sweet and had a lot of class, sad to here of her passing. The Hardt's let me have my lettermans sweater before I paid for it, as times were tough for a while after my dad died. They cared. A highway name change is a small thing for all their kindness. I did 22 years in the US Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. I now live in Craig Alaska (Prince of Wales Island)I am the Director of a small non profit Substance Abuse Treatment Agency and I also do Bear Hunting trips and Halibut & Salmon Charters. I love it here, Arizona to Alaska go figure.

Small world, I have lived in Alaska since 1981. First Anchorage and then Juneau since 1986. I work through out SE Alaska, and I currently have two clients on POW.
Juneau reminds me of Globe - both mining towns. I always say there are similarities between AZ and AK; afterall, Arizona was the Last Frontier before Alaska became a State.
I am looking at returning to Globe next Fall.
Sue

Thanks,Lon. Hearing this sort of thing really warms my heart. You were not the only one they helped this way; but, I never was never aware of it until long after they had to close the store. The rename did go through and I want to thank everyone who was involved.

Jo

Lon: My sister found your message and sent it to me. Hi! I live in Phoenix and go up to Globe to visit Mom when I can. I see Bill Sheppard, who is an attorney here, and Ann Walker Pyles, who lives near Seattle, most often of our classmates. Kathy Stewart Struensee and I have lunch once in a while and I recently ran into Roy Waddell and his wife at a restaurant. I have a public relations and lobbying firm in Phoenix--we've been in business 13 years. Nice to hear what you are doing! Athia

Hi Athia
I used to live on Oak St. and remember going to your house sometimes when I was a little girl. You and your family were so patient and nice to me. My dad, Tony Berver, used to teach at Globe High School. I am glad to hear you are doing well. Carol Berver Fly
