you will find I think more of the OLDER whites/white factoreds are conforming to standard then the younger ones. To many have gotten into this beautiful breed just for the producing of the "white" without thought to what makes a complete doberman. They don't know the standard or even how to read a pedigree. If the parents aren't the same of the individual dogs, breed them and lets make some money tends to be the common thing for WZ breeders.
I've seen to many of the knowledgable, caring breeders of WZ's leave or stop breeding WZ's because of the ethics and principals of others. It doesn't seem to matter that on one hand, you have a breeder health testing, researching pedigree's, adding non WZ lines to improve quality, and not just for one litter but on a continuous bases and doing it for the love of the breed, not to line their pockets and others lump them with with the "GREEDERS" who don't care a tad about any of that. That isn't fair to to them for their efforts and love so they leave.
The Greeders breed to many litters, pups are unsocialized, unhealthy, even if they did test parents, breed vWD's affecteds just for the temperament, not the quality, breed for the white color mainly, charge high prices, give them away to influence/buy friends, and then tell buyers to send them to rescue when the homes don't work out. They don't consider the quality of the dog, nor it's temperament. What matters if it has an awful head, low tail set, brisket way above elbows, shoulders to wide, etc etc. They don't care that it takes ALL that put together correctly that makes the doberman the DOBERMAN.
IMO, most of the WZ dobermans are a bad example of a doberman to start with. They don't conform to standard, to many have termperament issues mainly from uncaring breeding practices, and if a doberman don't look like or act like a doberman, then I'm sorry, they shouldn't be breeding that particular dog. There are to many in shelters needing homes for others to be breeding dogs with the only requirements being temperament, and color.
Many have the saying, "for the betterment of the white", and while that is a good saying, you can't expect personal feelings and issues not to arise when others see others NOT doing things for the "betterment of the whites" by using unethical practices and only breeding to line thier pockets. I wish someone could explain that to me but so far all the explanations of why you should do things the right way is right and but OK for others to do it all wrong too and make the whole lot of WZ breeders look bad haven't made any sense to me.
I'm sorry, the good that many have done to promote the WZ registered dobermans (well they do it for the "white", really), as being acceptable, bred to standard, etc etc, is being done in by the breeding practices of to many others that don't care about if their dogs are in standard, proper temperament, or even how closely related they are.
I don't care what breed you breed or are in, you MUST know the standard for that breed and breed to that standard to keep the breed of your choice looking and acting like it should.
Color and registration does NOT mean one is healthier then the other. IT's the breeders that do that by their choice of bloodlines they use and the research they do and the KNOWLEDGE they have learned by talking to others and then USING it, that make any WZ doberman or any doberman fit the standard of the breed, with good health, proper temeperament and longevity to boot!
I don't really see this getting posted, but I had to say this anyway.
