I agree with the post of 12-24-02. It is nice to find a "NICE" forum without all the backstabbers. After the tragedy of 9-11 we have a lot more to worry about than being concerned about having the so-called "perfect" doberman. I don't think that "perfect" doberman is our key to heaven when the time comes. Animals are for us to enjoy and share.
I have owned all colors of dobes since 1978 and when I found out in 1989 that the whites have been allowed to live since 1977, I just had to have one after seeing a picture of one.
I bought my first white back in 1996 from Bette Toskos, one of the first members who started the White Doberman Club back in 1993 and became a major "defender" of the white dobe until her untimely death in 1997.
There are lots of whites out there, but most don't take theirs out and about like I do so I always get the reaction or comments...."I've never seen one before." Most white dobe owners I guess are afraid or just don't want to put up with the flack. Me - I don't care....I DARE someone to give me a hard time....this is a free country (what is left of our freedoms) and it is my choice to own a white dobe for MY REASONS. I show white make, who is now almost 7 years old, very healthy, except for a small skin problem, but then the blues and fawns have skin problems also. I have titled my dog with a CD title with AKC obedience and also in agility (which is my addiction). I just LOVE agility. Ice has one title in AKC agility and two titles in UKC agility. He also earned his CGC when he was a year and a half. He has the dobe temperament and very loving when he gets to know someone, otherwise he keeps his distance until he has a chance to get to know them which can take minutes to days....depending on the person he is meeting. He takes to women easier since he is just around me most of the time.
My dog is from the Phantom and White Diamond lines. I neutered him when he was a year old as I did not care to breed him as I did not want to get into the breeding thing....been there - done that. NO MORE! By the way, my dog is one of the few that does not squint in the sunlight-though it would make me no mind even if he did. I have had his eyes tested 2-3 times and have always passed with flying colors.
I have created a website for my dog through WebTv and below is the link to it. Take a look...lots of good jumping pictures (he loves to jump but also loves tunnels).
I need to update the website but the pictures are good.
I need to change the e-mail address on the website, so if you have any questions about my dog please e-mail me at:
kathybatesno1fan@2die4.com
Since I consider myself as this actresses' number one fan I have named my dog after her even though it does not show that on the website. His registered name is:
Again, thank you for this nice and civilized forum. Enjoy Ice's website.
