Subject: docking tails-help needed

just wondering how you guys dock the tails of your dobes? every way i try, (and i've had the vet do it as well) i get the bald nub at the end. i've stitched them, pulled the skin back and cut at the knuckle, i've skin glued them... any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
