Subject: Heat/Cool garage shops

My shop is in an uninsulated, standard two car garage. I'd like suggestions for both mild heating now and moderate cooling for next summer - just enough to take the edge off in both seasons.

A heat pump system has been suggested - does anyone have experience with these? Some say that they don't work well in Houston, but I don't know. How about a big window unit AC with a heating coil?
