I am certainly no expert, but I recently bought the Rikon deluxe 14" band saw model# 10-325 from Woodcraft for $699.00 and am really happy, particularly with the ~13" resaw capacity, 1.5HP motor, two-speeds, closed cabinet base, built-in light, rip fence with resaw add-on, roller bearing guides, etc.
