Subject: Removing Old Wax

We have an old bedroom set constructed of 2x6 pine (I suspect) that has been waxed with paste wax for lo these many years. Now my wife has decided that it needs to be refinished and stained to be more of a blend for her newly designed bedroom paint scheme. My question is how do I remove all of the old wax prior to staining the wood a different color? I used to be a member for about 10 years or so but do to health and job issues I no longer belong to WWCH, so if you refuse to answer this question I will understand. Thanks for your help.
