Subject: Veneering

I see that someone is looking for ideas on veneering. When I had built the conference room table, I discoverd that Houston Hardwoods sells a veneer that is designed to be handled like plastic laminates. They have a veneer product that has a backing that allows you to use contact cement to lay the veneer. This way you do not need a vacuum press and or a slow setting glue.

They have a flier about the product and I will need to look for it again. The manufacturer's direction states that you need to rub the veneer down after it makes contact, and I mean rub hard.

Keep that in mind the next time you need to apply a veneer to a project.
