Author: ------- [Edit] |
Date Posted: 05:13:41 12/18/05 Sun There isn't much point arguing now since the pageant is already over, and whowever suppose to be hurt already got hurt, and disadvantaged already got disadvantaged. So, we hope that TVB learn from this year's pageant to make the next one better. If they see only Cantonese speakers as useful people to them in future business operations and thus deserve to be in the top 5, then, put that down as a criteria for the application, so that less people will be deliberately hurt and TVB's reputation less damaged. |

Quite preety as well #4- very good performance and is the most photogenic.I also heard she has excellent speaking skills which shows on the night #5- already in top 5, tall and preety. comparing her to the actual winners and you'll see the big gap. Though preetier in real life (i saw her on the night) $8- very talented, can be seen from her singing. Already in top 5 but is beta than the 1st runner up #9- quite preety, may have lost due to her cat walk but is def beta looking on camera than the top 3. |

| Subject: TIPS for Sydney Pageant ! | |
Author: Susie Wang [Edit] |
Date Posted: 20:41:13 11/06/05 Sun Hey guys, was just informed by Patrick Wong from TVB about this year's pageant. Here are some tips - since lots of you seem so excited and eager. Since now it's past the interview process - Tips for from now on: During training days: 1. Always be on time! (V. v. v. v. important!) On time means 5-10 minutes early. NEVER ever late. Especially if you go to HK. 2. Smile. Be happy. Don't ever put up a stressed, worried, moody, or expresionless face. SMILE A LOT. 3. Be polite. To EVERYONE. From your trainers to people who clean up after you. All comments count. Simple things such as greeting people, saying thanks, please, goodbye, take care etc. From the day you start training - the competition has started, all the people ever coming in contact with you will be judging you, all comments and feedbacks will count towards the ultimate result. 4. Dress appropriately. Nothing too revealing, nothing too short, too flimsy - you are at a pageant, but one with class, not to show flesh. This will create a good impression. 5. Dress with style - no tracksuits, shorts (exercise types), snickers. At pageants - you wear heels. HEELS! - Get used to wearing min. 3 inch heels all the time. Learn to walk in them during this time. WALKING is a big part on the final night - it is how you carry yourself, study models, see how they walk. Walk with different moods when you have different outfits - Swinsuit - you can walk more playfully, The traditional gown - proper, classy, elegant. Train yourself during these days. It won't just come on the final night. Practice at home in front of your mirror. 5. Don't overdo your make-up - nothing too dramatic unless requested, no need for fake eyelahses etc - unless if you really feel the need, and on the final night on stage, when stage make up is required. 5. If you smoke - try not to when you are at training. 6. Know which angle you look best. Stand in front of a mirror and have a look - does your left side look better or right? Hair down or up? Learn and know it, try posing in front of the mirror to find your BEST look first - practise until naturally you can pose like that without a mirror, in any position. This is for the media - they will be taking photos of you from any possible angle imaginable - esp. in HK, you don't want bad photos of you on media - so always smile, and smile in your best way, learn how to turn your head to the camera. 7. Photographers - media - you will get many people taking photos of you at the same time - where do you look?? (Esp in HK) Spot the reporters who are from big papers, and TVB, look at them first, once the light has flashed, quickly look at the next one - this way, you will get the maximum number of photos where your eyes are in focus. When taht's done - you can smile at the public who take photos, or your friends. 8. Keep in shape (self explainatory!! :) ) 9. Swimsuit day - SHAVE!!! make sure there is no hair underarms, legs - make sure you bikini wax or shave - it is unpleasant site otherwise, and can be very awkward if your photographer is male. Bring linings for the bikini you are going to be wearing for hygien reasons. NATURAL MAKE UPS look best with swimsuits. 10. Wherever you go to, you could be meeting a judge without you knowing. So be sociable - talk to people - even those you think won't 'matter' because some judges are not revealed until final night - you don't want to have made a not-so-great impression on them already! 11. Learn your eating etiquetts - which knives to use first, which side are the bread plates (left!!) etc. You will be going out to functions. So prepare yourself. 12. Be confident - You made it in top 12 for a reason. You have the chance to go to HK and have some more fun. So believe in yourself, be happy, be friendly, be polite, and SMILE A LOT!! Good luck girls! best of all wishes!! xoxoxoxoxoxo Susie |

That mean isn't there should 2 interview process?? 1st interview to see all the candidate then a 2nd interview required to wear swim suit only for those that may have a chance to be in top 12 isnt it?? Unless Gloria lam last year got pick without having to be at the interview which will be unfair for other girls. Could there be another interview, otherwise when is the profile up? it is taking its time |

The organisers had better crank up the publicity engine if they want there to be a MSC2004. It takes a good month for the entries to come in, a couple weeks to pick the finalists, and then at least another month to promote and train the finalists for the performance night. OT, what's become Mina (MSC2003) since MCI? Has she done any publicity work for TVB? |

Author: Lillian [Edit] |
Date Posted: 00:12:36 01/31/04 Sat at Miss Chinese International held in Hong Kong. I fink its fairly great. At first, the only disadvantage I fought she might have is the body, and education comparing to other contestants. Now, she has improved in body measurement and in her profile it listed university student. I don't think the Hong Kong judges will care if she was from Insearch (which is from UTS anyway, and UTS is considered one of Sydney top unis) or her english skills, plus it isnt that bad anyway. After I've seen Miss Chinese Sydney show I fink her interview part was just alright. If she perform well on the night, and not giggle too much during the interview question part like she did in Miss Chinese Sydney pageant and, actually answer the question ehehe then I fink she could do well. But then there is so many other strong contestants, My prediction is that she probably will get 3rd place or maybe top 5 the least. Well, Susie Wang got top 5 last year, I'm sure this years winner will do just as well. What do u guys think?? I don't think I'll get much replies since this site as been fairly quiet laterly ehehehe |

She used to buy superficial things such as cosmetics, MD, cd-players (when they were in 'in') and clothes with money off guys who liked her. She was pretty but very much in love with money. She has a boyfriend whose name is Frankie and he went to Sefton. He made a lot of girls pregnant behind her back. This couple is a killer in society. Sinners of this world . |

Date Posted: 22:35:45 12/19/03 Fri In regards to some comments made about this website having inside info...here's the entire deal: Whatever is on the actual webpages are official info released by TVB or other pageant parties to the press. We merely collect this info & show it to anyone interested. Anything under *gossip* is strictly that - GOSSIP and whether or not u believe or know the truth is up to u. However, most of the gossip can be 'backed up' or have an origin. They're not just some made-up fantasy. We do get some insider info as we have been contacted by past contestants, past contestants' friends, past contestants' so-called friends as well as some other pageant related ppl. However, whatever the webmasters feel isn't completely backed up or completely true are not released to the general public. most of the photos on our site are: 1. released by TVB to the general public on newspaper, magazines, promotional booklets, etc. 3. provided to us by past contestants themselves (especially in the personal profiles area). 2. provided to us from webmasters of other pageant sites to cover the international pageant. If anybody feels that any part of the site is obstructive or shouldn't be there. Feel free to argue your point rite here in front of everyone else (as TVB themselves have done) and please stop emailing us 20 times a week complaining about our site. |

Date Posted: 23:17:53 12/15/03 Mon I saw some of your comments regarding the fairness of the pageant. Could anyone tell me that which girl should have won but not due to their language problem? Q&A is only one part of the pageant and judges will see the overall performance of the girls and not just one part of it. In any competition, their must be winner and loser. The organiser will not appreciate everybody as people will have different opinion on that. The loser and their supporter will sound it out UNFAIR. The way that you people's critise here will stop organiser's desire to organise the event again. Who will be the loser??? The people who need money such as elderly nursing home. We as general public do not have chance to watch the show. I don't think any other organisation apart from TVB can organise a show like this.Do you people know who many helpers involved for this pageant? It is more than 100. Whoelse can do it? There is no profit to organise such big event. Do you people know who much TVB spent for this show? Why TVB is organise it even through the event is making a loss? It is because they want to provide entertainment to the people in Australia and not gossips. If the event turn out to be a negative, I am sure TVB will not organise the event in the future and who will be the loser? Of course you people can provide criticism but to my opinion should be in a positive and constructive way and not just critice it. Just like I point out in the very beginning, WHO DO YOU PEOPLE THINK SHOULD BE THE TOP FIVE BUT NOT DUE TO THE LANGUAGE PROBLEM? and let people do a voting here. |

Date Posted: 06:59:46 12/13/03 Sat The MC was instructed to not translate the questions into English or Mandarin as they said "to be fair, only Cantoonese are to be spoken"....Is this how they were being fair. It's Miss Sydney Chinese, not Miss Sydney HK or Miss HK. I think we all agree that Mandarin is the Official Chinese and if not, English should have been spoken since we are in Sydney!!!! This was to deliberately disadvantage the girls not from HK. As with No.7, she was put their as a decoration so that at least it will look like a "fair competition"... |

Date Posted: 14:06:58 12/11/03 Thu From the amount of right details of some people's compliant, I'm sure they were at the rehearsal. I don't think anyone can remember the details of 15 questions that were read 1 min b4 the show especially in inapproperiate English!!! Besides, only 9 questions were asked at the full dress rehearsal, and each of them weren't even completed, plus the MC already refused to speak English or Mandarin from that point. |
