You're absolutely right!

The Miss Sydney site hasn't been updated for ages because I can't be bothered anymore. If Sarah Song did better than Susie Wang at Miss Chinese International then the whole thing is rigged more than I want to believe.

beauty pageant is like any buiness and their aim is to profit by attracting the right market.

Tvb wants to attract more mainland participant for miss chinese international pageant,& expand miss sydney pegeant (prior to sarah song win the pageant is dead - its only because sydney won this year that is why there is some hype) - I think sarah song is the best pick to meet tvb goals because she is the worst contestant, short,average,dark & not slim.

Think about it if someone like lee ka yan or zhang zi yi won, not many girls will enter but if someone completely opposite wins then majority of chinese population will say 'if sarah song can do it so can I' mothers will think my daughter is better than her if she Can be a celebrity & have fame so can my daughter. etc
this encourage more participate then profit comes from more entry fees, bribe negotiations, more viewers, more sponsors.

Even if sarah song didn't enter the pageant,someone else short,fat,dark & average will still win - so sarah song won due to abit of hardwork, self effort & 99% due to being at the right time at the right place.

whether she can reach the top in tvb againt charmaine sheh, gigi lai etc is dEpending on herself - but doesn't seem like she needs to do much hardwork because all she does is play games eg, tvb anniverary, enter game shows etc. She looks lik she is on holiday in hong kong rather working her butt of at tvb.

I think when she comes back to sydney to crown the next winner she will tell us HOW EXTREMELY FUN it was in HK that can really convince sydney girl desperately to enter tvb because they want to experiences the same joy & fame.

in the upcoming year 2008 onwards Chinese Canadian girls need to move over and make room for us - Chinese Sydney will be the next hit.

That's my opinion.
