 video footage can only be downloaded via USB in mpeg4 format which is very low quality. The best quality is downloading in AVI format and then converting it into MPEG1 or MPEG2 (1 most preferably)... however you need a firewire to be able to do this (due to the speed). Panasonic sell software with the firewire (panasonic DVstudio). Thats what I use and I recomend it.
