My SO found one these days, included the manual, so here we go:
- press the "S" key, the green light has to come up and stay lit
- press the key corresponding to your device (tv, vcr, sat)
- enter the 3digit code within 30 seconds.
(There is a codebook supplied ...).
- test the entry by pressing the big green "power" key. It should turn on or off your device.
In case it does not, you have to go back to "S" again and try the next code from the booklet.
--- code search mode ---
If you didn't find one:
- turn on the device in question
- press "S", the device key and 3times "0" key within 8 seconds
- within a few seconds, start pressing the green "power" key for a moment and lift it again for about 2 seconds until the device hopefully shuts off.
- just when it did, press "S".
----
You have to reprogram the damn thing everytime you change batteries, so write down your found numbers:
- press "S" and the device key
- press the "-/--" key and watch the LED.
- count the blinks of the LED: it will blink in short intervals for each number, with a 2 sec break in between digits.
---
Now to my experience: we have
- a Sony tv (about 6 yrs old) for which it works
- a zehnder sat receiver (in the codebook) but nothing
- a noname digital sat, nothing
- a noname vcr/dvd player combo, also nothing.
(Former equipment for which the thing might have worked, has already gone south)
- So since the original tv remote is still functional, we'll trash the SC-230E.
If you are interested in the manual (German) or the codebook, or just want to know the possible codes for your devices, mail me. It's a 10-messages-only-throwaway address, so hurry up before the spammers found it ;-/
