I think the person who said it looks "odd" has never seen Miss Ma Teen with straighter hair. That is one of her many attributes, her look is very versatile! Go look at her web page and you can see for yourself. If you really look at the shot, the photographer never even "cleaned it up". Sounds like a case of bitterness to me!
