Subject: I have NOT had an engine failure

Here is a different one. I have a 2002 M#(Feb 02 build month) that was not subject to the oil pump recall. My car has 30,000 miles and is driven really hard. I over rev occassionally (usually when the tires break traction in 1st) and run it in the 120 to 130's in 5th gear at around 6,000 before I get around to put it into 6th.

Here is my question, should I replace the connecting rods as per the new recall? It seems that my engine is fine. I would like a consensus as to when most engines blow. It seems like it is in the first 10,000 miles or so.

Any thoughts?

Tony
