In the first year (season four) Kate was positive & had good things to say about Jeri Ryan. Unfortunately something happened to change that outlook. I don't think its any coincidence that it seemed to sour around the time Jeri Ryan started to date Braga. This is pure speculation of course.

Fortunatley this did not affect the onscreen chemistry but it certainly affected the potential for a friendship between the actresses. After this Mulgrew constantly played down the J/7 dynamic. I recall things such as "I wouldn't overstate it" being said. As well as one or two other slightly dismissive comments. Of course through all of this Jeri Ryan held her tongue, commendable perhaps, but she was having all her dialogue written by her boyfriend. I don't think she had much to complain about.

I enjoyed both these characters tremendously & have a lot of respect for the actresses, but something definitely soured between them. That was unfortunate.
