Yes I agree the plot would make a good film. Unfortunately I don't like Goldens writing much. She is a bit heavy on the J/C subtext & she can't write the J/7 dynamic at all.

I really was cringing at the mama Janeway tag & when she hooked up with Mark's wife as her new best friend I was running to the bathroom to gag. I mean that was way too far fetched, where were Janeway's sister & mother?

Then there was Seven going off to live with her aunt & acting all girly. "Oh Aunt Irene". My God, I really don't think Golden likes this character much! Janeway would never have abandoned Seven in such a manner. She was left high & dry to basically get on with it & Chakotay is going to take up the reigns....yeah right! Janeway would have been out there making sure Seven was fine, not off sunning herself on some beach with Mark's wife, giggling & planning a holiday to Mexico with Chakotay in tow. She was all but imagining him in a pair of speedos running down the beach to wrap her up in his manly arms.

As for J/7 subtext, it was non existent. Golden couldn't write it even if she wanted too. I hope she proves me wrong on this.
