l saw anne murrays latest television special. The special was a by request live show. When somebody requested anne to sing l just fall in love,she did. Before she sang the song, she mentioned the fact that the great dusty springfield had recorded this song,and had a hit with it. And to my surprise anne did not even mention, the carpenters who of course first recorded it. A week later l wrote to annes management, complained about this, and three weeks later,l received a beautiful,autographed picture. The picture was personally signed, by anne herself. l also like annes voice, and her song selections over the years. Its to bad karen did not push for her incredible version of that song;
to be released to the radio. thanks for reading carlo

As much as I enjoyed Anne's version of the song. The Carpenters' version is by far superior all the way around from the excellent musical arrangement to Karen's powerful vocal. I truly feel that as time has gone on The Carpenters have the best known recording of the song worldwide. Only because of it's inclusion on big selling compilations like "Yesterday Once More" and "Love Songs".

I always thought the Carpenters should have released I Just Fall In Love Again as a single. It was such a great song. Richard's music was outstanding - much better than anne Murray's anyday. The Carpenters version was a masterpiece, while Anne Murray's was more like paint by numbers.

Karen's version of "I Just Fall in Love Again" was beautiful. So was Anne's, not better or worse, just different. Decisions are made everyday in the music business. Sometimes a song is picked as a sure hit and others a complete miss. No one can outguess the public....and believe me, lots have tried.

I do prefer the Carpenters recording over all other recordings - but I do like Anne Murray's version. I bought the single when it was released and played it until the grooves wore out.
