Subject: Danger

While today we are confronted with mixed messages and contradictions on all fronts, it takes a lot of time and effort to see clearly the direction and path our government, our people, and our world is taking.
There is danger in writing off as unpopular, or as not "with-it" or "hip" certain ideals and issues.
There is a large amount on both coasts of this country of people who, dismiss the middle of the country, dismiss the current administration and try to refocus all of the wrong in the world on Bush and the Republican Party.
Demonstrations against the war in Iraq, calling Bush a Hitler, equating our fight against terror in the world as a right wing plot to take over the oil countries.
Last week I saw one of these so-called demonstrations on the grounds of the Ventura County Government grounds. I know they had their cause (anti-war) and were free to voice that, but in the middle of the group I spotted the tired old signs stating "Zionism= Racism", also "free the land of Palestine". What was this group and what did they really stand for?
Most people I meet in Israel are happy that we have President Bush in office, for once we have a President that will stand up against the suicide bombers and the people that support them. Will stand up against the Iran, Syria hatred and terror support. What I find that is so contradictory is the lack of support for Bush in the Jewish community in the USA!
While the Jewish vote in the USA has always felt fundamentally closer to liberal views, given the history of the people. Today we are in a different world. The liberal press as we see in the boycott issues is if anything, against Israel and all it stands for. The liberal media is no different and is also pro Arab. Weather we like it or not the world has ganged up on the Jewish people, the UN the news media the anti war proponents all support this anti-Israel movement. There is talk of finding a solution for the Israel ( Jewish) problem in the left wing area of our world. Suicide killers are glorified, written about. While I am not 100% Jewish I am proud of the Jewish part of me. I travel the world on business I see and hear things; we cannot let our guard down. We are in a war, a war against the very ideals we cherish. It doesn’t matter that it’s in Iraq; it would have to be in some radical Arab country for us to take a stand against the forces against our way of life. In all cases the Jews are blamed as the reason for the conflicts. America’s support for Israel against the Arabs is the hate that is spread. This support is killing 1,000’s of Arabs everyday, so the lie spreads.
