Subject: Halloween....

In previous years Killay has been a mess after Halloween, with broken eggs, egg-boxes and flour everywhere, especially in and around the park.

We invite small children to come to our house trick or treating by displaying a hollowed out pumpkin with candles, but were also ready for the ones armed with ammuntion!! Luckily our house was not 'egged' last year, as it was in previous years, but then we stood outside holding a garden hose - pipe!

Why do these children think that sort of behaviour is fine - just because its an 'event' ? I hope that our elderly, sick and infirm residents are not subjected to this sort of behaviour, and as responsible neighbours we all need to keep an eye out for trouble,

Then - having got through October 31st along comes the dread and fear of Novemember 5th......Oh when will it be illegal for individuals to buy these things from newsagents etc?? I have the tranquillizers ready.......for my 2 dogs and cat

Cyfrin, Halloween is a cause for much trouble in the area, I wonder why some youngsters seem to think it is a licience to cause criminal damage and an excuse to use treatening behavior.
I shall have my camera to hand this year and will post on this site, any photo that I think will 'name and shame'.
Anyone else care to do this as well? I think this forum is ideal for this purpose.

Well I am really amazed to report that there was absolutley no problems in this area on halloween!

We had 4 lots of cute trick-or-treaters, accompanied by parents, but NO eggs or flour or unruly youths! I would hate to think that they have moved elsewhere tho' - I would rather think they stayed indoors!

Cyfrin, Same near the precinct no problems as far as I know and I have had no reports of any. There was certainly no mess around as in previous years. And I had no reason to use my camera.
So well done the parents and the youngsters!
