Subject: Depth and speed transducer location

Wondering where other boats have their through hulls at. I am not sure I like the location on Pyxis (depth is in the area of one drawer under the port setee and takes up that whole space.

On Murre the knot meter and depth sounder thru hulls are in the same place you describe, I think. That is, on the port side under the port, main cabin settee just a tick forward of amidships and right at the inboard edge of the settee.

I don’t have a drawer there, so it doesn’t feel like it takes up too much space.

In a certain sense, it seems the ideal spot in that it is the area of the boat's hull that is the most likely to be IN the water most often--at least the part you can get at. Even so, I find it easy to lose "traction" when I'm on a banging port a tack.
