Subject: Radiator Cap Leak

My radiator cap on my 4108 leaks as the engine warms up. It's a new-ish cap--maybe four years old, and was replaced by a mechanic, not me.

Are there different kinds of caps? Do I need a "thighter" one--a cap w/a different rating?

Not a new problem, but I noticed it again this weekend when I installed a radiator overflow bottle slightly uphill from the engine. The bottle won't fill at all (because its uphill?) but will **somewhat** if downhill from radiator.

Confused.

Randal,
Check out the two rubber gaskets on your radiator cap. I just replaced mine with a 7lb. from an auto parts store. Just bring in yours and match it to one there.

Randall,
Try an E-bay search. They have a lot of 7 lbs radiator caps available.
Mike
