Subject: speaders for M40

I am replacing the spreaders on my M40, actually they were not present when I purchased the boat. I have the dimensions for both the Mizzen an Main speader. My questions is what type of wood was used, or should I use??
My masts are solid wood.

Thanks in advance for any help

The masts are box sections (hollow in the center).

If you can find Sitka Spruce, you should use it again. If not, I don't see a reason why you can't use a Clear Douglas Fir to build the spreaders.
