Subject: Vetus windless on my Mariner 32 "Malabar"

"Malabar" came to us with an older model "Vetus" hand operated windless and 100' of chain. All looked fine until we used the windless for the first time and found that the chain hung up on the winches wildcat making the combination unuseable. I have discovered that the chain is 5/16" G4 type and most windless manufacturers reccommend BBB type. I have written to Vetus several times asking if I can purchase a compatable wildcat for this G4 chain with no reply as I could not give them a model number of the windless. I assume that the Vetus windless was standard on some Mariners so maybe someone can help identify mine. Thanks, Richard
