Subject: Solar

Am having difficulty locating sources re ***marine*** solar installations: best brands, trade offs, installation best practices, gotchas, etc.

Have read Calder, Casey, WestMarine site (what there is) and have googled till the lenses fell out my reading glasses.

Am reading SOLAR ELECTRICITY HANDBOOK, Michael Boxwell (http://www.solarelectricityhandbook.com/). No marine focus, but is current in a fast moving field and has a concise introduction and very good resources on the website.

Can't seem to find a single resource that addresses ***marine*** issues:
-all weather installations
-coordination of solar array to multiple battery banks and multiple charging systems (solar plus alternator plus wind, etc.)
-real world (sunny climes) expected energy output (beyond that of Calder/Casey)

Seems there ought to be a book out there for this ... or is that just cause I like books...

Any suggestions?

RR

Log into seafaring.com and ask your question. Aim it at the Freeport Pirates. Tom and Jeannie have been off the grid for a year now, and they live aboard.
