Subject: Looking for a history

I just finished removing many layers of paint from the name boards and came across the original name and port for our boat. It looks like it was "Water Rat IV" out of Nelson Bay which is down under if my research is correct. The later name was "Pyxis" out of Seattle. Anyone able to shed some light on the history of the boat? She was transferred to us with no log books or any other documentation.
