Yeah, I sure miss Iki. I've been gone for over three months now.

The off/on/both switches will fail just as yours has done. I have had this happen many times over the years.

I wired mine like the West Marine schematic, but I didn't use the combiner. The voltage regulator did a good job of preventing overcharging.

The one protection not there is the alternator field disconnect, so I had to be sure and not kill both batt switches.

Thank you gents for your feedback. My boat prior to Murre had no electrics at all, so I am particularly ignorant in that line. Here I was thinking that the 1-both-2 switch was so "marine". I have acquired the bible and read it chapter and verse.
