Subject: This year Rendezvous

I was wondering if there was a rendezvous planned for this year? I missed last years, but I would have gone to it had I known, I had not tracked down the web site yet. Thoughts anyone???

Nothing planned on west coast, far as I'm aware. Where are you?

I'm in St. Clair Shores near Detriot Michigan, I think I'm the only Mariner for miles around. If there was intrest I could put togeather a plan. I know there's a few on the East Coast. How was the attendance last year?

There are two Mariner 40's in northern Michigan. They both are on the hard and in the process of being renovated. But if the rendevous was planned within driving distance, we could plan on being there.

Attendance at last year's event in LA was really good, I thought.

We filled a banquet room at Tony's marina club house (Tony of Oblivion organized the whole deal). 20 - 30 of us? I don't remember exaclty how many. Bill Kranidis and his wife came all the way from NY, for example. It was good to finally meet DU MAN! And Sharon Adams DROVE down from Oregan to give a presentation on her Pacific crossing back in 69. So, it was a good time.

These events are particularly valuable if you can gather a bunch of boats into the same area (marina or raft up). Since most of our boats are in various stages of renovation, or at least improvement, it's great to see how others have tackled the problems you're working on.

And it's good to just have a few beers w/folks who own a boat like yours and think it's a cool thing!

My two cents.
