Gene, are you refering to the atomisers on the 4.107? I've got the old parts book and workshop manual for the 4.107. It says the earlier atomisers are held on by a locking nut and the lastest by two nuts. There's a copper washer between the atomiser and the recess in the cylinder head. They recommend a new washer be used if the atomiser is removed for any reason, but no talk of special tools required for removal or installation. Good luck.

Sometimes they require a soft knock to get them out of the bores. You can take the injectors to be tested at any diesel repair place. They will test the fuel pop-off pressure and the pattern. If they require rebuild, that is where the special tools come in for some types of injectors.

OK, thanks for the info.

I am convinced that they are baked into the "bore".

I will soak in penetrating oil and try again.

Gene I been a diesel mechanic for 40 years and can tell you in It can be difficult especially if the injectors have
been in for 35 years.Use a heal bar and pry one side up then the other.Assume an attitude you might bend one and they usually come out

Jim,

do you have to disassemble the return lines connecting the atomizers in order to take them out ???

Bill;
You have to remove the pressure line,return line and the injector hold down 2 nuts on studs and pry upwords with aheal bar or also called a crowsfoot tool between the head and injector .Good luck

Bill K;
Most Perkins 107s have a one piece return line so that it has to be removed by taking loose the nuts and taken loose as a unit. I have seen hoses between the injectors on top so with that system you could pull one injector at a time but most are one piece

Ditto, again.

Thanks for the info.

Bill
